Last month I had the oppurtunity to tag along on a little mountain climbing trip.

| Trip Report With New Splitboard |

So the new splitboard I bought arrived on Friday - just in time for the weekend. My plan was to get up to Mt. Hood fairly early and begin my trek. I, unfortunately had to take care of some business before leaving and wasn't able to get out of Portland until about 9:30am. This put me at Timberline lodge at about 11:00am. My orginal plan, if weather permited was to hike to the Hogs back which is about 10,000 feet or so and then board down. Time was not on my side. I decided that a hike to the top of the Palmer snow feild was going to have to do.
So here are some pics I took...

Looking ahead yet again. The weather at this point is really starting to get nasty. Thoughts of turning around and heading down are racing through my head.
All in all it was a great little trip and I really enjoyed it. I almost had more fun heading up the hill then I did coming back down. Course white conditions can take away a lot of the fun so...

This is Meadows in late winter/early spring. The conditions up top were untracked - but it had rained the night before and was getting extremely warm, the snow quickly turned into wet heavy cement slop. It was still a lot of fun - lots of nose first type wipe-outs.
